A few weeks ago I joined Sabrina, her husband Shawn, and their two little kiddos at their Bed Stuy backyard for a Brooklyn family photo session. It was the perfect weather – not too cold but just the right amount of sun. Of all the wonderful locations in New York City, I must say I love being invited into people’s homes. Even if it is not your forever home, I still see it as a special place. It’s kind of the place where we spend most of our time now, am I right? Especially now in the pandemic, I find having a backyard session takes the stress away of having to go somewhere and you still are able to get some wonderful family moments documented. The possibilities are endless when doing something in your own home. Like having s’mores and a little dance party -it’s basically the best day ever.
I also love that the family dog was involved in the session! I imagine for most families, your pet might be your first “baby.” If you have a dog, cat or anything else, it’s so nice include them in your photo session if you can. I know if my dog was still around I would love a photo of her with my kiddos.
